Blue and silver, my favourite combination of colours. This necklace is 530mm long.
The sterling silver wire is shaped to represent the route of the River Thames as it passes through the centre of the city. It starts at approximately Lambeth Bridge, sails past the Isle of Dogs, before finishing at about Greenwich.
It has a pendant of brilliant blue, in the shape of a water droplet, fashioned from sodalite. This stone was first identified in Greenland in the early 19th century but it is now cut in Ontario, Quebec and Maine, so all in North America. The small nuggets of blue are cut from lapis lazuli.
The necklace has been hallmarked by the London Assay office.
